 Loading units

We use the best type of pump tailored to your application taking your experience into account.

Our product range contains the following:

  • Air-operated diaphragm pumps

We offer you electrical pumps with a matching frequency converter for stepless control. In the case of positive-displacement pumps, we offer you the pump with the right overpressure protection so that you are provided with a reliable loading unit.


 Connection and discharge manifolds

Here we use connection and discharge manifolds specially adapted to your application, operating parameters and specifications.

Aquachem provides you with the piping and diaphragm valves based on your requirements. Additional functions such as extra connections for flushing and washing media or turbid flow can be factored in.


 Flocculant and filter aid dosing

For flocculant and filter aid dosing, we have our system:

the Aquachem polymer dosing station.
Dosing can be performed in combination with inline mixers or static mixers appropriate to the requirements and according to the sediment load.


 Baffle plate thickener, thickener and vessels

Depending on the application, a thickener or baffle plate thickener is used to thicken the sludge for the filter press. As a result, the hydraulic load of the filter press system is reduced and the filter press can be fed with an optimum water–sediment load ratio.

The waste water treatment can be decoupled from the filter press system with a vessel.


 Flocculation monitoring using the I-Floc system

The Aquachem mud measuring device I-Floc is used for monitoring the flocculant dosing. This ensures that the correct quantity of flocculant is always dosed.
The I-Floc determines in short and regular intervals several relevant parameters such as:

  • Density
  • Mud volume
  • Settling speed of the flakes

Furthermore, the I-Floc can be linked to the overall system via the PLC so that the addition of flocculant can be automated. This not only increases process reliability, but also flocculant savings of up to 50 per cent.


 Turbidity monitor

The turbidity monitor is used to check the clear flow (the filtered medium) for suspended solids. The PLC is regulated in our fully automatic filter presses here so that a turbid filtrate is sent back into the vessel at a defined level of turbidity. This process is repeated until the filtrate is clear again, or the filter press outputs an alarm to signify that no positive result has been achieved within a pre-defined period of time.


 Container distribution systems

The solid discharge (the accumulated cake) can be channelled using funnels into containers, sludge trolleys, big bags, etc.

Alternatively, in the case of larger sludge quantities, the solid particles can be distributed evenly in the container using an electrically powered compensator, which is housed underneath the filter press. The fill level is determined using several laser sensors, whereby a message can be sent to the control room, for example, if necessary.


 Flushing and washing station


The flushing and washing station is a bin tower with one tower containing thewashing medium and another containing the cleaning solution.
The level of each of the installed bins is monitored, whereby the necessary media can be topped up using the PLC as needed.

The flushing and washing station is used in automated washing cycles in order to to penetrate the cake using washing water/medium and, for example, to dissolve the salts or to replace the mother liquid with washing water.

The flushing station is used to regenerate the filter cloth at regular intervals by means of a flushing medium. This process enables the increase in the service life of the filter media.


 Mobile flushing unit

In terms of its function, the mobile flushing unit has the same function as the stationary flushing station (see the section "Flushing and washing station") with the difference of being able to be used in different locations. The mobile flushing unit can be removed if necessary from a hazardous materials warehouse.


 Work platforms

At construction sites, it can become necessary to install filter presses in elevated positions or on work platforms in order to facilitate the use of sludge trolleys, containers, big bags, etc. We would be delighted to support you in this regard with customised adjustments tailored to your situation on site.


 Outward transport of solid discharge

AQUACHEM offers you the following options for transporting your solid discharge.

 Remote maintenance

For all fully automatic filter presses of the AF-series, the option is available to assist the operator on site by means of telephone support using remote access.  Thus, a quick response to your call is possible, and the downtime of the system is minimised.
