Do you know the ‚German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act‘?

Since January 1, 2023, the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG) has applied to companies with 3,000 or more employees in Germany, and since January 1, 2024, also to companies with at least 1,000 employees.

Already back at the IFAT 2022, our managing director James Babbé received detailed advice on this topic from management consultant Raimund Doppelreiter. The new law obliges companies to act sustainably and in accordance with human rights within their supply chains.

Even if we do not have nearly 3,000 employees yet, at AQUACHEM we already pay attention to defined standards when selecting our suppliers.

We are very proud that approximately 75% of our filter press parts come from Germany. This not only facilitates communication, but also avoids long, energy-inefficient transport routes.

Furthermore, we appraise each of our potential suppliers in advance on site - whether in Germany or abroad. In addition to product quality, we also pay attention to the work ethic of our suppliers.

In our factory in Senden, we carry out regular test filtrations with customers and interested parties. Together, we check the filterability of their suspension. After completing these tests, we guarantee that the waste products will be disposed properly.

We do not stop at the packaging materials either. These are not simply disposed, but reused to deliver our filter presses and other parts safely to their destination.

Partnership with our suppliers

We not only maintain trusting partnerships with our customers, we also attach great importance to fair cooperation with our suppliers. Long-term supply contracts give us the greatest possible flexibility, especially in the current times. With our so-called Supply Train, we not only grant ourselves access to resources, but also enable our suppliers to plan with long-term security.

Due to our significant growth in recent years, we have also switched to a dual sourcing system. With additional, suitable suppliers, we reduce delivery failures to a minimum.
